NSYSA To Give Away Over $500 Per Week Starting October 7th!!!

NSYSA To Give Away Over $500 Per Week Starting October 7th!!!

Dear NSYSA Friends, Players, & Parents,

Every year part of the NSYSA's mission is to generate enough revenue to support such activities as high caliber player training/development, licensing/certification of coaches, and field maintenance/improvement. Once again our sole fundraising effort of the year will be our annual cash raffle.

We will be giving away over $500 each full week during this coming October in addition to offering some exciting new prizes for the hard working top-sellers.

A few weeks ago, your child's coach handed out the initial supply of raffle tickets. Each player should have received a packet of 10 raffle tickets to be sold for $10 each.  We hope that each player can sell all of their 10 tickets. Please have your child write their name on each ticket to ensure they receive proper credit for the sale.

Here are more specifics about this raffle:

  • As tickets are sold, stubs (buyer keeps calendar portion) and payment should be handed into whomever is working the concession stand at that time.  It is not the coaches' responsibility to collect sales.
  • Additional tickets can be obtained from a concession stand worker or by emailing David Punchak at president@nsysa.org
  • Each week we will draw one winner for each day of the previous week.
  • The first drawing will be on October 7th!
  • Drawings will be held the last four Saturdays in October at 1 pm in front of the concession stand bulletin board.
  • Winners need not be present at the weekly drawing (they will be notified by email).
  • The $500 grand prize will be drawn the last Saturday on October 28th.
  • Tickets can be sold right up until the last drawing on October 28th.
  • Each ticket can win multiple times

Prizes for the top sellers include:

  • Grand Prize – Apple Watch Series 2 - 38mm Space Grey Aluminum with Black Sport Band
  • First Runner Up – Beats Studio Wireless Headphones - Titanium
  • Second Runner Up - $150.00 American Express Gift Card
  • First Place Sellers in each division (other than the 2 Grand Prize winners) will receive a $50 Gift Card
  • Second Place Sellers in each division (other than the 2 Grand Prize winners) will receive a $25 Gift Card

For more details please read our Raffle Q & A document by clicking here. Or you may contact David Punchak at president@nsysa.org

Thanks in advance for playing such a pivotal role in helping us provide a top notch soccer program for the youth of North Smithfield.

Best Regards,

Town Ordinance Reminder - No Pets on Fields

Dear NSYSA Players, Friends, & Families:

Our town Parks & Rec Director has requested we be a bit more diligent in following one of our Town Ordinances.

Specifically per Chapter 3/Section 3-7:  It is unlawful to allow or permit any animal on public parks or sports playing fields, whether or not restrained, except for service dogs (so called).

This ordinance applies to Pacheco Park and the NSES field complex, which are both town facilities.  The school department prohibits pets from the turf facility under their own separate policy.

In year's past when we failed to properly enforce this ordinance, one dog led to another and so on and so forth until there were on average 10 pets at the field on any given Saturday during Fall Rec.  This scenario unfortunately did lead to one of our children getting bit at the fields, so I'm sure you'll understand our sensitivity to this request.

Best Regards,
North Smithfield Youth Soccer Association
